Seam Repair

Everything Is Not As It Seams

Just as a magician can make you see what he wants you to see, so can a carpet installer.

Wall to wall carpeting is comprised of smaller pieces of carpet that are fused together at the seams to create a seamless appearance.

When it is first installed and maintained everything looks great but it doesn’t last.

Common reasons to why carpet seams come apart are:
Age: This is a natural occurrence. As the carpet reaches the end of its lifecycle seams start to deteriorate.
Moisture: Glued down carpet can buckle and curl when exposed to too much moisture.
Improper Installation: Seams not properly sealed.

How Do We Fix Carpet Seams?

This process is fairly straightforward. What we do is called “buttering” the seams. What does this mean?

What this means is we use a special latex-bonding agent to fuse seams together. This creates a long lasting durable bond between the seams.

If you have an old carpet, we can cut out the damaged seam and install a new section of matching carpet. This method extends the life of your carpet, and saves you money.
